How do I fix these two lines between my eyebrows and at the inner corner of my eye?

These two lines, the grooves between the eyebrows and the inner corners of the eyes, are medically referred to as... 'Glabellar Lines' Or perhaps it's called... '11 Lines', in our area we might call it "Rong 11". This is caused by the tension of the muscles between the eyebrows (corrugator and procerus muscles) working too hard, creating deep grooves, especially when frowning or making facial expressions such as stress, anxiety, or when sunlight causes you to squint frequently.

The doctor recommended two main solutions.

  1. Botox
    • Suitable for: Grooves created by muscle movement (Dynamic Lines)
    • Treatment methods: Botox injections reduce the activity of the muscles in the frown line, helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines and create a more relaxed look.
  2. filler
    • Suitable for: Permanent furrows that are visible even when not frowning (Static Lines)
    • Treatment methods: Injecting filler to fill in deep lines between the eyebrows helps to smooth the skin and immediately reduce the appearance of the lines.

Cause of groove 11.

  • The area between the eyebrows consists of: Two main muscle groups namely
    • Corrugator Supercilii Muscle: Its function is to pull the eyebrows together, creating a vertical groove.
    • Procerus Muscle: It pulls the upper part of the nose and eyebrows down, creating horizontal wrinkles.
  • When these muscles contract repeatedly, such as when frowning or making a worried facial expression, they pull on the upper layer of skin, creating folds. Over time, or as we age, the once elastic skin begins to lose collagen and elastin, causing these lines to become permanent "deep furrows."Static Lines(Clearly visible even during a break.)

The age range at which deep furrows (furrow 11) begin to form.

  • Young adulthood (20-30 years old)
    • At this age, grooves will begin to form in the form of... Dynamic Lines These wrinkles are only clearly visible when frowning or making facial expressions, especially in people who frequently use the muscles between their eyebrows, such as those who frown when staring at a screen, looking into the sun, or experiencing frequent stress.
  • Age group 30-40 years and older
    • As we age, the skin's ability to produce collagen and elastin decreases. The skin in the area between the eyebrows, which is frequently pulled by the muscles, thins and sags. This causes furrows that were once only visible when moving the face to become deep furrows that are visible all the time.Static LinesIn addition, bone degeneration in the nasal bridge and eye socket area causes the skin in this area to dry out and lose its support, resulting in more prominent nasolabial folds.

Factors that triggered trough 11.

  • Repetitive facial expressions, such as frowning or staring intently for extended periods.
  • Sunlight damages collagen in the skin layers.
  • Stress and insufficient rest.
  • Neglecting skincare habits or dry skin.

Botox for frown lines

  • amount: 8-15 units
  • Work: It helps relax the muscles between the eyebrows, reducing frown lines and skin tension, making wrinkles less noticeable.
  • result: Results start to show in 3-7 days and last for approximately 4-6 months.

Filler for deep furrows between the eyebrows

  • amount: 0.3-1 cc (depending on the depth of the groove)
  • Types of filler: A medium-texture filler (such as HA, which is flexible and smooth) is used to fill in deep wrinkles in this area for a natural look.
  • result: Results are visible immediately after treatment and last approximately 8-18 months, depending on the type of treatment and individual care.

The amount to use depends on the doctor's assessment of each individual's groove characteristics and depth. The chosen amount is tailored to each patient's case to achieve the most beautiful and natural-looking results.
