If I want to scrape off liquid silicone, will I be able to remove it all?
I've seen news about many influencers as well. It's very sad and worrying, and serves as a good cautionary tale for many. Regarding your question, dear customer... "If I want to scrape off the liquid silicone, will it be possible to remove it all?" To be honest, I must tell you that... Scraping or surgically removing liquid silicone is not possible to remove 100% of it.
The reason is that "liquid silicone" or other foreign substances that are not genuine, biodegradable fillers like those we inject correctly, once injected into the body... These liquids won't clump together into a beautiful mass like silicone implants for the nose or chin. Instead, they will gradually seep and permeate into the various tissue layers of our body. It's like oil seeping into a sponge. It mixes with our normal fat, muscle, and tissue until it practically becomes one with us. Over time, the body creates scar tissue to encapsulate these fluids, forming small clumps scattered throughout the body. This makes surgical removal or scraping them out very difficult. The actual process isn't really scraping; it's mostly cutting them out.
Therefore, the primary goal of liquid silicone removal surgery is not to remove it completely, but rather... "Surgery to correct specific functional problems." For example, procedures such as scraping to reduce the size of severely swollen and deformed areas, surgery to drain pus and infection, or surgically removing as much of the hard and painful fibrous mass as possible, while trying to preserve as much of your healthy tissue as possible. Removing approximately 60-80% of the foreign substances is considered a great success. To alleviate symptoms and reduce future risks, but it's important to acknowledge that some substances may still remain deeply embedded and unable to be removed, potentially causing further inflammation in the future.
This answer is not a diagnosis. Please consult a doctor if you have any worrisome symptoms.
