Are the procedures for HIFU and Ulthera the same?

The preparation steps and basic procedures are almost 100% identical. This also includes other body tightening treatments. Many people may have had HIFU treatment before, and if you're switching to a higher energy level today, the treatment environment isn't much different from before.

Both HIFU and Ulthera have... The skin preparation, numbing cream application, and gel application procedures are exactly the same. Both are non-surgical facelifts that require no downtime, but the difference lies in the procedure itself. Ulthera features a screen that allows the doctor to see the deep skin layer (SMAS) in real time. (This is why many patients wonder why the doctor talks so little during Ulthera treatment; it's because the doctor needs to monitor the screen and examine the skin layers with every shot.) This allows for highly accurate treatment and longer-lasting results (but you may feel a slight delay and more pain). HIFU does not have a screen; it relies entirely on the doctor's technique and experience. The advantages are that it's less painful and more affordable. However, it really depends on the patient's needs and readiness as to which option they prefer.
